How Learn About Me Works: Questions, Memories, and Keepsakes

A family story can begin with a question or with a memory you already know you want to keep. Learn About Me supports both, alongside a separate group Tribute experience.

1. Choose your starting point

Choose guided Life Story if chapter themes would help you explore your life. Choose Tell It Your Way if a particular memory, photo, or reflection is ready to be told. Their access is separate, and you can use both.

For a group celebration of someone else, choose Tribute. Family and friends contribute their own perspectives around one person or occasion.

2. Put the memory into words

In guided writing, respond to a chapter question and explore useful follow-ups. Replace an eligible unanswered question when it does not fit. Skip for now leaves it available to revisit; retiring a question means you do not intend to answer it.

In Tell It Your Way, begin with writing, an optional idea, or one photo. Add passages in your own words. Direction prompts and your own questions are optional aids, not a required sequence.

3. Save and return

Short sessions count. Check save status before leaving and return when you remember more. In an independent story, distinguish text still in the composer from a passage you have added. If saving fails, keep a copy and use the recovery options.

When you return, open the chapter or story you were working on. Available actions depend on your account access and the state of that work.

4. Review the right version

Guided answers are used to create chapter prose. Read the chapter for facts, names, and familiar phrasing. Eligible additions or corrections may require recreating a chapter before they appear in the next book.

Tell It Your Way keeps your saved passages as independent writing. Finish story creates a finished library version. Later edits remain working changes until you choose Update story.

5. Choose the next destination

Keeping writing, sharing eligible completed content, and creating a book are separate steps. Finishing a story does not automatically put it in a book. Where book placement is available, make that choice deliberately and check the contents before generating a new download.

For Tribute, the organizer reviews the collected contributions and prepares the reveal and digital keepsake. It has its own contribution and sharing flow.
